Search Parameters

Same Name
The files, which are together seized to a group of dupes, must have the same name.

Same Size
The files, which are together seized to a group of dupes, must possess the same size.

Identical (CRC)
The contents of the files are be compared. The selection of this option can slow the search procedure substantially, it is necessary to read the files which can be compared completely.

Exclude from scan (Archive, Read Only, Hidden, System check boxes)
Archive, Read Only, Hidden, System are file properties. Check this items in Windows by clicking "Properties" button at context menu for the file or files group.

All Files From, All Files Till
Check these items if you need and then set date from and/or date till.

Minimum Size, Maximum Size
Check these items if you need and then set minimum size and/or maximum size.

File masks
You can use some predefined sets of file extensions to include this files in search.

Search Progress

When you have defined your search criteria and pressed the Find button, the programs starts to search for duplicate files.
The percents of scanned files is displayed on the status bar.

Right button menu

You can choose the files that you want to process and perform various operations on the selection. Pick the operation you want from the toolbar or from a pop-up menu you can activate by right-clicking the list. Some items may be hidden or disabled, depending on file type or location.

You can choose one of these operations:

- Open folder (opens built-in folder browser)

- View file (opens the file with viewer program)

- Open file (opens the file by using the associated program)

- Print the selection or the whole list

- Copy, Move or Delete selected files

- View properties of the selected file

Actions with files dialog

This dialog available both from context menu and from toolbar.
Pressed action will be choosed automatically. For example, if you choose 'Copy' in context menu you will see choosed 'Copy' item at this dialog.

System requirements

If you want to use Duplicate Checker, you need:

• A Pentium computer
• Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 or higher
• 2 MB free space on your harddisk for installing Duplicate Checker

Duplicate Checker requires version 4.71 or higher of the Windows Common Control library. This library is part of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, and is available as a separate download from the Microsoft web site.
